Review Film "Five Feet Apart"

The next film I will review is "Five Feet Apart", a film which was broadcast in 2019 with a duration of 1 hour 57 minutes. with actors who were famous at that time, this film was liked by many people.This film tells the story of a pair of lovers who cannot be close to each other, even before they become a couple they already have their own problems.

It is said at the beginning of the story that there was a girl named Stella who was trying to stay alive and fight her disease, namely Cystic fibrosis. Stella had a friend while she was being treated at the hospital, his name is Poe. they always Communications via telephone. One day Poe and Stella meet a new patient of the hospital who is very naughty. He feels hopeless with his life, his name is William or usually called Will. Will never even took his medicine again. One day Will wants to draw Stella in his book, and to get Stella's approval, Will must accept the agreement. Will must be willing to take his medication regularly. From there the seeds of love grew between them. With the closest distance of 5 meters, their friendship, and their health, will Will and Stella be able to unite? very unexpected ending.

This film is set in an advanced city hospital, the medical equipment used makes the audience believe that they are really sick. There are shots that would be considered random but have meaning, for example when the camera highlights the frame in Stella's room (pic 1).The depiction of how Will no longer has the enthusiasm for life can also be seen from the look on his face (pic 2). When watching this film, the audience will be grateful for life, the scene where Stella enters the baby's room will make the audience feel grateful because Stella is not allowed to be there any longer (pic 3). Not only that, when they try to breathe well, we as the audience feel the pain (pic 4).

There was one scene that really made me cry, when Poe passed away (pic 5). how devastated Stella is is clearly shown. Everyone was sad, including the audience. The storyline is not slow, it makes the audience enjoy the story. But the ending of this film is hanging. No one knows the ending of Stella and Will's story because Will chose to leave Stella after she has lung transplant operation. This right makes the audience furious about the end of their love story, which even now no one knows. However, there are several moral values that we can get from this film. The first is to be more grateful for life, grateful that we are given a healthy body, that we can even breathe easily. Secondly, don't give up and keep trying to live. From Will's despair until he starts trying to live, we know that in the future we might find a reason to survive.

This film contains a lot of moral values. The love story that sweetens life and the life struggles they go through can be a lesson for the audience. This film is highly recommended to watch with family, friends or your partner.
